File samples

If you wish to submit files for analysis, please send them to [email protected] with the subject title: File For Analysis. You should place the files into a password protected Zip archive, with the password infected. This ensures that your mail is not intercepted by any antivirus scanners.

Creating the archive in Windows

Using Windows Explorer, locate the first file you want to zip.
Right click on the file, select Send To, then Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Right click any other files you want to compress and select Copy.
Right click on the compressed folder and select Paste. The copied files are compressed and pasted in.
Right click on the file and select Explore.
In the File menu select Add a Password. Enter the password and confirm it.

On Windows Vista and later you may need a third party archive manager, such as WinZip, WinRAR or 7Zip, to add a password to a Zip archive.

If you are going to send the files using Yahoo Mail or Google Mail, change the file extension of any executable file, for example .exe, .com, .bat or .scr, to something else such as .ex0 or .ba0 before you zip the files. Otherwise your email provider will prevent the files from being sent. Remember to use the password infected.
