Trojan Remover updates

Program and database updates are available through the integral updater. Manual update links are here for the times the updater cannot reach the servers.

Normally it is much easier to use the Trojan Remover integral updater. To update, start Trojan Remover, then click the Update button on the main menu bar. The program checks for updates and installs any that are available.

Should you have any problems using the integral updater, or if you need to reinstall the latest program update, you can download and install it from one of the links below. Information about using the Windows Task Scheduler to schedule regular unattended database updates is at the end of this page.

Program update 6.8.1

You must already have Trojan Remover installed before you apply a program update.

Changes in this version

  1. Version 6.8.1

    • Improved heuristic detection routines.

Installing a manual update

  1. Close Trojan Remover before you install the program update.
  2. Download the update file, trj681.exe, and save it to a folder on your PC.
  3. Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions. You can delete the file once the update is installed.

Database updates

If you only need the malware database rather than the program file, use the Update button inside Trojan Remover. The integral updater collects the database build directly and applies it without a separate download. Database update builds are also published through the same update servers that host the program updates listed above.

Scheduling unattended updates

You can schedule regular unattended Trojan Remover updates using the Windows Task Scheduler. The Trojan Remover help file explains the steps: start Trojan Remover, then select Help, then Contents, then Updating, then Scheduling Automatic Update Checks. The help file can also be read online.

If an update reports an error, the support page lists known conflicts, and the FAQ covers the common install messages. If you have not registered yet, see the registration page.
